Babulu, February 15, 2025 - A total of 40 fourth-grade students from Classes 4A and 4B of SDN 001 Babulu, accompanied by their parents, participated in a study tour to Sadurengas Museum in Paser Belengkong, Paser Regency, East Kalimantan. The activity aimed to broaden students’ knowledge of the history, culture, and local traditions of the region, while also involving parents in their children’s educational experiences.
Class 4A, led by homeroom teacher Mrs. Suparti, S.Pd., consisted of 20 students, while Class 4B, led by Mrs. Kasmawati, S.Pd., also had 20 students. The activity was also attended by the students’ parents, who accompanied them and provided moral support throughout the journey. The participants departed together from SDN 001 Babulu in the morning using a bus arranged by the school.
Before departure, the homeroom teachers provided guidance to students and parents regarding the purpose of the visit and the importance of maintaining discipline and appropriate behavior while at the museum. Participants were also reminded to respect the rules and regulations at the historic site so that the learning experience could take place smoothly and enjoyably.
Upon arriving at Sadurengas Museum, the participants were welcomed by a museum guide who explained the history of the Paser Kingdom and the historical artifacts that have been carefully preserved to this day. They learned about cultural heritage that must be protected and preserved, including distinctive architecture, traditional musical instruments, and various artifacts that bear witness to the historical journey of the region.
The activity provided students with a firsthand experience of understanding the cultural values and traditions inherited from their ancestors. By seeing historical objects directly, students became more aware of the importance of preserving local culture so that it would not disappear amid the rapid development of modernization. The students’ parents were also enthusiastic about attending the explanations and discussing the region’s history and culture with their children.
In addition to gaining new knowledge, the study tour also provided an opportunity for students and parents to learn together outside the school environment in a more interactive way. They were able to ask questions directly to the museum guide, observe historical collections, and discuss interesting things they encountered at the museum with their classmates and parents.
Through this activity, SDN 001 Babulu hopes that students will develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of their local culture, while parents can become more actively involved in their children’s education. This study tour was not only an educational journey but also a meaningful, enjoyable, and memorable experience for all participants, both students and parents.
